Coconut Cove Resort Wedding in Islamorada, Florida | Jennifer and Steve

Jennifer and Steve were married on November 12th, with a Coconut Cove Resort Wedding.

From the moment these two reached out to me, I knew they were exactly the kind of couple I wanted to work with—mostly because the thing Jennifer was most concerned about was trashing her dress underwater the day after the wedding. Yes, please, sign me up! Add that to the fact that they had fireworks planned to go off during the first dance and the beachside ceremony at Coconut Cove Resort, and I knew the whole day would be absolutely amazing.

Of course, considering the story of how these two met, there was really no question about the wedding being at the beach. When they first met, Jennifer was working at the marina, and Steve would often fish there, but she didn’t really care much for the guy with the big, burly beard. But years later, at a bar named Fishtales, they met again at a Bloody Mary competition. The beard was gone, Jennifer was smitten—and four years later, they returned to the restaurant so Steve could propose.

During the wedding itself, my second shooter, Tara Sproc, and I had a blast with the wedding party. We’d been warned that Steve and some of groomsmen were not fond of having their pictures taken, but by the end of the pictures, those guys were all laughing like a bunch of kids as they held the bridesmaids’ bouquets! They were so much fun to work with, and once they relaxed a bit, they were easy to photograph! A shout out to Diego Stuart Films for handling the video side.

Then, the day after the wedding, Jennifer hopped on her friend’s boat to head out to a sandbar for a “trash the dress” session in the crystal blue ocean! It was clear she loved the water and the chance to really play in her gorgeous wedding finery, and we loved every second of capturing her joy!

Steve & Jennifer, thank you for asking us to be part of your Coconut Cove Resort Wedding! You were just so fun to be around, and by the end of the day, we really felt like good friends! Congratulations!
