Alex and Larry were married on April 3rd in a beautiful wedding at the Winter Park Racquet Club.
Some weddings and couples will forever stick out in my mind. Sometimes, it’s because of a ceremony table crashing into the bridesmaids from some gusty winds—and other times, it’s something about the couple. This time, it was the way Alex and Larry looked at each other. It wasn’t how Alex glowed like a freaking angel or how SO much thought was poured into every detail (like flowers and desserts from every country they were going to visit on their honeymoon) or the way the sun made everything sparkle just a little bit—it was the way they looked at each other like they were the luckiest people in the entire world. They looked that way in their engagement session, too!
As she was getting ready, Alex had a steady calm about her. She already knew the day was going to be perfect because she had found the perfect man. It’s not often that you get to share a cup of coffee with the bride before the ceremony and have her mother snap a photo of you doing it! When she walked into the Racquet Club just a few hours after the sun rose on that gorgeous Sunday morning, she was already glowing. Both Courtney, my other shooter, and I loved capturing that look all day.
Larry, meanwhile, was feeling both lucky and a little nervous as he waited to see his lovely bride. They wanted their first look to be something really different; they wanted to see one another little by little leading up to that final moment together. So, on the morning of the wedding, I decided that Alex should stand by the lake while Larry drove his beautiful Shelby down to her. And man, the thing I love most about this moment is that it is so evident in the photos that once they locked eyes with each other, the rest of the world just melted away.
Non-traditional in almost every way, Alex and Larry had their cocktail hour before the ceremony while we were taking photos after the first look, and so their guests got to enjoy the show with a cocktail in hand! The weather was fabulous and breezy, and we were able to hold the ceremony by the lake followed by a delicious brunch reception and ribbon sendoff for a midday exit. They finished off their perfect day with a private dance in the venue after all the guests had left—how very romantic!
Larry & Alex, thank you for allowing us to be part of this special day in your lives! We wish you the very best.
And one with me and the bride & groom. I have to say it again: Alex and Larry - I loved every part of your day!
