Amanda and Steve were married on December 3rd, in a gorgeous DIY backyard wedding!
It was absolutely incredible to watch my best friend get married to the man of her dreams. They met several years ago, though Amanda was dating someone else at the time, and it wasn’t until Sunday Funday that they really hit things off. Amanda and I had gone kayaking and were enjoying our time with friends downtown when we ran into Steve again. This time, Amanda was single, and I was an excellent wing-woman. It took literally nothing to get these two to start talking, and the rest is history.
Earlier in the year, they had welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Charlie, into the world, and over the holiday season, they decided planning a wedding was too stressful—they just wanted to officially become a family!
Now, as both a photographer and a friend, I knew that I wanted to capture these two in some gorgeous portraits, but I also wanted to be part of the day for myself and to enjoy the wedding. Thankfully, our associate photographers and friends at Light Up Wedding Photography were able to help. Andy and Hannah captured the actual wedding day, and a few weeks later, I had a portrait session with just the two of the during a beautiful sunset at Lake Louisa State Park. I was able to get the best of both worlds—to truly enjoy the wedding as a guest but also get them in front of my camera to capture the beauty of their love.
Even better, when we went to take their portraits, Andy and Hannah came along once more to capture this behind-the-scenes footage of what it's like to have a session with me (Sara)!
Amanda & Steve, thank you so much for letting me capture these pictures with you and for letting me be part of your day! I love you both and am so happy for you!
