The moment that I read Leeann's beautiful email describing her love story with her soon to be husband, T.L., and the dreamy wedding they were planning, I was hooked. We connected immediately, both envisioning the magic amidst the mountains. She carefully selected the Gambill Estate for her wedding venue, a decision that left me doing backflips creatively, and then I was forced to wait essentially an eternity for September to roll around, when I finally was awarded the chance to capture the wedding of a lifetime. I was not disappointed.
A rolling hill estate bordered by mountains, horses in the pasture, an immaculate barn with the prettiest bridal suite we've been in to date, twinkle lights under the night sky, and more details than the eye could even handle. The bride said "Our goal was to stay true to our venue and setting in the North Carolina mountains by balancing rustic materials such as wood and burlap with more glamorous, feminine elements like tulle, chiffon and our venue's beautiful crystal chandeliers. "
Leeann greeted me in the bridal suite, surrounded by ladies in beautiful floral robes (with POCKETS!) and delicate blush bridesmaids dresses hanging nearby. Even more incredible: the pane windows with an incredible view to enjoy while getting hair and makeup done.
Not to be outdone, the guys enjoyed themselves in the horse barn on property, which had it's own amazing view as well as some houseguests that provided some well enjoyed entertainment.
Before the ceremony, the couple decided to have a first look, and it was one of the sweetest we have ever captured. We found the most incredible tree amongst the rolling hills which provided the most romantic backdrop.
After we knocked some incredible portraits out of the way (to be seen further in the blog post), it was time for a ceremony straight out of a movie scene.
I could have spent the next 5 hours taking portraits of just the two of them, all over the estate, and I am sure I still wouldn't have hit every single corner of magic that exists on that property. The variety of colors, trees, landscape, mountains cape, and lighting that naturally exists at the venue combined with the raw emotion and love these two have for each other has left me daydreaming about the light filtering through the trees ever since.
After our hearts were full with all of the captured goodness, it was time for fun with the formal party and a reception that everyone will always remember! Leeann described her favorite moment: "My dad and I also planned a fun father/daughter dance that nobody else knew about. Seeing my dad pull off all of his choreography while the crowd went wild is something that I will never forget!"
An AMAZING thank you to all of the talented vendors that the couple hand selected who worked so hard to create this amazing day!
