Choosing the perfect pictures for your wedding album is no easy task, especially when there’s hundreds of incredible photos you can choose from. A few weeks (or months) after ever wedding, I get an email from one of my couples, asking me how on earth they are supposed to pick photos for their wedding albums, and while I've been sending a pretty sweet written guide, I thought it might be even sweeter as a blog (and with pictures!)
Your wedding album will be your first family heirloom and it is important that your wedding day is represented in chronological order. From the getting ready part of the day, to your last dance and grand exit, all the important moments should be included in this gorgeous custom made book to preserve your memories.
st Spread: Your FAVORITE portrait from the day. I'm a sucker for that "WOW" factor right from the get go. It will put you in a good mood literally immediately EVERY time you look at it!
nd Spread: Details. Think wedding dress, shoes, jewelry, flowers, invitation, etc.
rd Spread: Getting dressed. This spread should contain pictures of the bride after she steps into her wedding dress for the first time, for example: mom zipping up the back of the dress, bride putting her earrings on, etc.
th Spread: All about the bridesmaids. I love this spread to be a collection of photos JUST of the ladies, all dolled up and having a good time.
th Spread: Details. Suits, ties, watches, booze, you know - the good stuff.
th Spread: Getting dressed. The groom putting on his jacket and buttoning it, fixing his tie and putting on his cufflinks are images that could be included in this spread.
th Spread: All about those groomsmen. The funny socks, crazy faces, all of that goes here.
th Spread: Formal party group portraits. This is a good way to tie the two stories together, and prep for the ceremony photos that are about to follow.
th Spread: Ceremony. This should be the first time the couple sees each other, and any super cute or funny moment that happens during the walks down the aisle.
th Spread: Ceremony - Overall shot of the ceremony, traditions, first kiss as a married couple, bride and groom walking out.
th Spread: Couple portraits.
th Spread: Couple portraits.
th Spread: Couple portraits.
th Spread: Couple portraits
th Spread: Family Portraits - Groom's Side
th Spread: Family Portraits - Bride's Side
th Spread: Reception Details. Cakes, flowers, tables, and decor.
th Spread: First dances and speeches
th Spread: Reception photos
th Spread: Reception photos + exit.
And there you have it! Happy creating :)
