Duke Chapel Wedding in Durham, North Carolina | Christina and Thomas

Christina and Thomas met the summer before their Freshman year and then through a twist of fate, found themselves living in the same dorm by Sophomore year; it was only natural that they chose the stunning and historic Duke Chapel wedding venue. When these two lovebirds reached out to me about capturing their love story and Duke Chapel wedding, I knew from the initial consultation that they had a special kind of love, the kind that makes everyone around them believe in a happily-ever-forever. Chance was on their sides once more when Thomas had a training session down in Miami, and we were able to squeeze in an engagement session during their busy schedule at Blowing Rocks Preserve, one of my favorite hidden Florida gems. At the engagement session, all of my initial thoughts about their romance were confirmed, and it left us all incredibly excited about the actual wedding day. Fast forward a few short months and we were all reunited in Durham to capture one of the prettiest weddings I have ever witnessed!

On the day of the wedding, Christina got ready at the Hilton Garden Inn and Thomas got ready at The Cookery, where they were holding their reception, mere minutes away from the Duke Chapel. They were both surrounded by their closest friends as they prepared for the best day of their lives.

Once they were dressed and ready, the pair headed to the architecturally stunning Duke Chapel, where they said “I DO!” in front of their closest friends and family; Thomas was actually brought to TEARS when he saw his stunning bride coming down the aisle!

The bridesmaids looked incredible in their blush and plum color pallet gowns from Dessy, and the groomsmen weren’t too shabby in their grey suits and sleek tuxes. We are BIG fans of putting the groomsmen in a lighter color pallet; it makes the groom stand out visually, just like the bride!

The Duke Chapel is one of the prettiest places we have ever had an opportunity to take bride and groom portraits – no matter which way you go around the building, you’re guaranteed to land visually stunning shots, and we didn’t hesitate for a moment to take advantage of all of the different looks of the Chapel.

The reception was held at the funky and fun venue, The Cookery, in Durham, North Carolina. The charm of the brick walls, urban light fixtures, and dangling market lights was so fantastic that the couple only needed to add minimalist white and green decor to bring it all together. A special surprise for their guest was the delicious Two Scoops ice cream food truck that pulled in to dole out tasty treats!

A huge THANK YOU to all the vendors who helped make their day so special:
