Old Mill Wedding in Rose Valley, Pennsylvania | Nicolette and Sean

The bride for this stunning Old Mill wedding in Rose Valley, PA, was once a bridesmaid in one of our favorite Keys weddings of all time, featuring some of my favorite people on earth, Nikki and Matt. Nicolette reached out to me after getting a chance to see our team in action and chatted with me about the visually stunning wedding she was planning with her long time love, Sean. One quick google search on the Old Mill and I was daydreaming for days. The year flew by and before I knew it, I was stepping off a plane, eager to capture all of the authentic moments of the upcoming wedding.

We found Nicolette cool as a cucumber on her wedding day, enjoying a glass of champagne with all smiles. When we set off to take detailed portraits, we gathered some lavender that we had noticed was growing nearby, using it to add a pop of color to some of the detailed shots. When we showed her, back at the room, her eyes lit up and she giggled that Sean’s nickname for her was actually, Lavender! Her lace thin-strapped gown looked so beautiful on her, she needed few jewelry embellishments, letting her hair cascade around her like a goddess. Sean was of equally good spirits, enjoying adult beverages with his friends and family. They had received incredible groomsmen knives the day before, and we couldn’t resist getting a shot of the ring bearer holding one – don’t worry, he was supervised the whole time!

Driving into the Old Mill was riding into an enchanted garden. Hills adorned with flowers covering all sides were all around, giving the illusion that we had stumbled upon a secret place, deep in the woods. The sun’s rays made the earth glow with joy. Choosing to have a first look and then breaking up their portraits into different sections of the day, we had the opportunity to play with different kinds of lighting. They had their ceremony in the marrying meadow, where the trees stood so tall, it gave an otherworldly feel to the spot.

We had a lively time celebrating the bride and groom with a massive formal party – always bound to bring laughs and good times.

If the snippets of the Old Mill haven’t made you fall in love with the venue, yet, get ready for these bride and groom portraits around the property! I likely could have spent two hours with them scouring the property because it was so vast and beautiful.

Nicolette and Sean were a dream to capture at their Old Mill wedding – they had been together for so many years that they had a comfort between them that was effortless. Their love, combined with such a gorgeous setting, was a recipe for B.E.A.U.T.Y.. They got to enjoy part of their cocktail hour thanks to the first look, and enjoyed a lively reception filled with dancing and good times!

And for the grand finale, a super rare photo of me, Sara! I usually forget to take one before I look like a wet rat that’s been hit by a truck, but the lighting was magic and I was able to remember to snag one with the bride! Congrats to you both, it was an absolute pleasure capturing your Old Mill wedding day!
