One of my favorite things about my job is when I have the opportunity to be the person who captures an entire group's special moments in life. Shannon was a bridesmaid at our downtown Orlando wedding where the bride (Lauren) got down with the worm in her wedding dress, and had an opportunity to see how our crew operates first hand and reached out to me about also capturing her special day. She and David plan to get married later this year on one of Florida's beautiful beaches, they met on a beach, it just made sense to also have their engagement session on the beach!
When we were chatting about the session, I got the question that I hear remarkably frequently: "is it OK to bring our dog?" - the answer to that is ALWAYS YES! I am a huge dog lover (we just adopted a Great Dane puppy three months ago!) and LOVE incorporating them in sessions! A tip for a successful session with a pup: 1. bring treats. 2. refer to number 1. 3. bring a friend or family member to eventually step in and take the fur-baby aside, allowing us for some couple time.
Fun story for this particular session: the entire drive to the session, I was trying to remember Shannon and David's pup's name (Jake) so that I would be able to call for his attention during the session easily. I got the "It's Jake, from State Farm" slogan stuck in my head and we spent the first part of the session with the pooch, so I eagerly called "Jake!" repeatedly for about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the name out of my head and accidentally Called David "Jake" about 35 times. Whoops. Luckily they thought my consistent goofing was hilarious and managed to laugh it off and we ended up with a BEAUTIFUL sunset!
