Monica and Lawrence are yet another unique SO couple - they are from the same town in California and grew up together their whole lives, and yet somehow they made it all the way to college before love brought them together. They've been together now 8 years, first living in different cities in California, and then spending the last 3.5 together here in the Tampa area and they are about to rejoin their families on the West Coast in less than a month! As this engagement session was also a farewell to Florida as they take off on a new adventure together, it was important to me as their photographer to not only capture the love between this couple, but the essence of St. Pete right alongside it, so that they may cherish this time together here on the East coast, always.Read More
I am still SWOONING over this insanely beautiful engagement session at Wekiva Springs State Park last night! Wekiva is one of my favorite parks to camp, hike, and explore with my one year old, and I've been waiting for the right couple that would be down for a hike (and maybe some bug bites? Sorry about that, Teddy!) and then Morgan contacted me about capturing her upcoming wedding on New Years Eve - and as it turns out, they were that couple for me! You guys, this cute as can be couple grew up in the same town their whole lives and went to all the same schools - although it wasn't until Morgan was a senior in High School and Teddy was a Freshman in College finally linked up during a game of hide-and-seek (I know, could this be more of a fairy tale? I think not.) and have been together for EIGHT YEARS since! Teddy is in Officer Training School for the Air Force and so we squeezed in their engagement session on one of his quick trips home and it was everything I had hoped a session at Wekiva would be like, and more.Read More
If you haven't figured out yet that I absolutely LOVE love, you're about to. At a recent Bridal shower for a good friend and favorite client, Brittaney, I struck up a conversation with said clients sister's (Chelsea) girlfriend (Christina) (are ya following me, here?) only to find out she was planning on proposing to her girlfriend! I pounced immediately and we began discussing strategy with Chelsea standing only feet away! Good thing she was so distracted doing the whole sister thing that she didn't hear us planning her dream proposal! Christina and I met in advance to decide where she should actually do the popping of the question and to scout out a good hiding place for me.
And then today finally arrived! The day we've been scheming about (oh, and for the record, Brittaney and basically everyone Chelsea knew this was happening... except her, of course!)! I donned on all black and took my place in the bushes and then thought to myself "oh, shit! what if someone sees me and decides to confront me right as Christina is proposing?!". Luckily no one did such a thing and our plan went off without a glitch! I was so honored to be there for this moment in their lives! Wonderfully for me, Christina even shared the champagne that she brought to celebrate with!Read More
I loved Kristina from the moment I met her - it was the way that she swindled a restaurant into serving her a mimosa when they supposedly didn't serve alcohol. Or, maybe it was the way that she was sweet to everyone and basically everything she said was hilarious. Maybe I can't pinpoint the exact reason I loved Kristina from the beginning, but I distinctly remember telling my boyfriend later "Chris is an idiot. Why hasn't he proposed to her, yet? She's AWESOME."
Well, Chris wised up and dropped down on one knee at the tail end of last year! When she mentioned taking the engagement photos at the state fair, I thought to myself "how so very perfect for them!" because in my head, this is a couple who is always laughing and having fun - and that, is exactly how I wanted to capture their engagement: as a joyous occasion. We spent the afternoon darting in and out of rides, indulging on ice cream and corn, and playing like big 'ol children. The result are these FABULOUS lifestyle engagement photos at the Florida State Fair.Read More
It had been months since I first met Alomy and we had scheduled this engagement session - I was so excited to get this long haired beauty in front of my camera! It was my first time meeting her fiance, and I am pretty sure we all became fast friends. It could not have been a more beautiful sunset in one of my all time favorite locations - Lake Louisa State Park. What I love most about this park is that I can visit it 5 times in one month and have completely different sessions every time! It's always changing! I can't wait for their wedding later on this year!Read More
