At least twice a year, I take my gear and head to my best friend's home to take photos of her beautiful growing family, and this time I was determined to give her something more than a pretty photo of her children. I wanted to give her the memories that as parents we sometimes wish we could just freeze in time. The way her son's tiny arms wrapped so tightly around her neck and how her daughter could pull off a shoe and stick it in her mouth in 15 seconds flat.Read More
Recently, I went to visit Andy & Rhea in their home to meet newborn baby Finley. I am telling you, if all babies were this sweet, I would photograph newborns all. the. time. They were very into the lifestyle way of shooting that I love and really allowed me to just capture them in this moment, cuddling, feeding, and becoming a sweet family of three.Read More
Michael and Rose were married on April 2nd, with a ceremony and reception at the Cypress Grove Estate House. These two are friends of one of my newly-married couples, Brittaney and Jameson. It’s always wonderful to be able to connect with old couples—and to know that they liked us enough to let their friends hire us!
When I met up with Rose on the day of the wedding, she was worried sick. The weather forecast was grim—it was supposed to storm ALL day. She was devastated, because her dreams of having beautiful photos in the outside greenery were diminishing in front of her. But—always thinking of ways to make the day easier for my couples—I arrived armed with over half a dozen clear umbrellas. There were enough for each couple in the formal party as well as the bride and groom.Read More
If you haven't figured out yet that I absolutely LOVE love, you're about to. At a recent Bridal shower for a good friend and favorite client, Brittaney, I struck up a conversation with said clients sister's (Chelsea) girlfriend (Christina) (are ya following me, here?) only to find out she was planning on proposing to her girlfriend! I pounced immediately and we began discussing strategy with Chelsea standing only feet away! Good thing she was so distracted doing the whole sister thing that she didn't hear us planning her dream proposal! Christina and I met in advance to decide where she should actually do the popping of the question and to scout out a good hiding place for me.
And then today finally arrived! The day we've been scheming about (oh, and for the record, Brittaney and basically everyone Chelsea knew this was happening... except her, of course!)! I donned on all black and took my place in the bushes and then thought to myself "oh, shit! what if someone sees me and decides to confront me right as Christina is proposing?!". Luckily no one did such a thing and our plan went off without a glitch! I was so honored to be there for this moment in their lives! Wonderfully for me, Christina even shared the champagne that she brought to celebrate with!Read More
I never thought it would be possible to love any photos of Dannielle and David more than the ones that were taken on their gorgeous sunset barn wedding day, however, this anniversary session proved to be one that could do just that! I took the couple to one of my favorite spots in central Florida to congratulate them on their first wedding anniversary and to take whimsical and romantic photos of them in the woods. Out of the car emerged the beautiful Dannielle, armed with the blanket used in their wedding photos, a bottle of wine, wine glasses, and their cake topper - which all fit perfectly in the cute picnic basket she also brought along! It spelled magic from the get go. How I've loved capturing all of this couples' milestones and I can't wait to continue!Read More
I first met Natalie and Chris when our mutual friend seated us together at her wedding reception, thinking that we would enjoy each others company - and boy, did we! I ended up dancing the night away with Natalie and AJ and I became fast friends with her and her husband, Chris. Naturally, we were SO excited when on one of our first outings with our new baby, we found out that Natalie and Chris were expecting! Apparently, little dude decided that he wanted in on that Thanksgiving dinner, because he came out over a month early, ready to rock and roll! I was so excited to get an opportunity to hang with this little guy and capture this amazing little family's newest addition!Read More
When I met Alex and Larry for their consultation for their upcoming wedding in April, the first thing I noticed was how comfortable they were with one another. They made each other completely happy. When Alex was telling me how much she loved the "Old Florida" feel, we all agreed that there was no better place to capture that than the beautiful downtown of Cocoa Beach, Florida. We spent a breezy afternoon chasing the bright colored walls and finished off with a frolick in the water! Fun Fact: Larry totally shoved Alex into the ocean on their second date - it was only fair we soaked him on the engagement session :) Can't wait for their wedding in a few months!Read More
My camera was itching to see one of my favorite little families and with Halloween and pumpkin carving and all things deliciously fall in the air, what better time was there for an at-home session than right this instant? None, I tell you. I love opportunities to shoot in the home - not only does it relax the littles, but these are where all of your memories are made. Even when you've moved into another home and another family has since taken over that space where your kitchen table used to be, your home that you're in right now will always be a land of memories. You'll remember when you put a bandaid on a cut finger in the kitchen, tickled the baby to sleep, snuggled extra hard on the couch when your favorite movie was on, or the time you spent carving pumpkins together as a family. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to peek in and get it all on camera.Read More
It's no surprise that two beautiful people created a beautiful baby - but what is a surprise is how cool and calm the little 6 day old Cora was for her very first photoshoot! This lil' mermaid must have felt right at home being so close to the beach. When I asked her mom to grab me a prop that I had thought of, she ended up finding an old box and cigar that her father had given her from when she was born - talk about a perfect find! I'm sure he will be thrilled to see that box in use during his granddaughter's photos :)Read More
Although his blue-steel faces might suggest otherwise, Maverick is usually a little happy go lucky buddy. This little trooper managed to let me get some super cute tiny smiles out of him for his one year portrait session with his parents at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, even though he was feeling a little under the weather. This little guy won the jackpot when it comes to parents because let me tell you what - I've known his momma for 15 years now and they don't come much better than her - and her hubby isn't anything to shake a stick at, either! I can't wait to see what kind of man this little guy grows up to be - if he's anything like his parents, he will be simply amazing.Read More
AH! This cutie patootie just turned one last week and I was super excited to take her one year photos! I've known her parents now for several years and all of us ended up having babies around the same time but Elly was the first one to make her debut. This spunky little chicklet gave all of us a workout as she explored Casa Feliz and giggled her way through the photoshoot, but we didn't mind. We even managed to capture a cotton candy sunset! Love watching this little grow <3Read More
When I met Megan and Cliff I was immediately taken aback by their intense love for each other - it was visible with every smile and look they gave each other. I was thrilled when during our consultation for their wedding, Megan revealed that she was also expecting and that her little would be a part of their upcoming wedding in December. I was thrilled for the opportunity to capture the most amazing moment of their lives: the birth of their daughter, Audrey. It was just after 10 PM when I arrived at Southlake - and you would never know that Megan was in labor! I walked into a room filled with giggles and jokes and it was a real celebration of life. I'm pretty sure Megan laughed Audrey straight into the world. Welcome to the world, Audrey! We are so thrilled that you are here. I can't wait to see how much she's grown in December for their wedding in Mt. Dora!Read More
