Jess and Derek’s Lake Mary Events Center wedding was magical because they were. They have this way of looking at each other, as if not only does nothing else matter in the world but their love and they know it, too. A lighthearted theme of adventures in life sprinkled with a little Lord of the Rings in hues of deep purple and golds set the tone. Jessica and Derek also incorporated their love of LOTR in their engagement session, resulting in one of their images landing in the top 10% of a NATIONWIDE photographer based contest! Now. Let’s talk about Derek basically ruining the vow game for any person who might have still been single/yet unengaged to their wedding date, that day. After listening to Jess pour her soul and love out for the world to hear in her own wedding vows, Derek doesn’t. even. need. his. notes. He knows every word so well, he simply looked into her eyes and proceeded to talk of a love that made “The Notebook” seem like a joke. The entire audience cried. I cried. Impossible standards were immediately created. Seeing the images roll across my screen, I remember the way these two looked at one another, and I had tears welling up in my eyes, AGAIN. Jessica said she and her parents were so nervous that they had to practice breathing exercises real quick before walking down the aisle, but from those vows, I’m guessing those nerves disappeared when she saw him standing at the end of the aisle.
Lucky for me, I escaped immediately after the ceremony for portraits around the property with the two lovebirds. The Universe was so happy these two vowed to adventure into forever together, epic lighting was bestowed upon us and our photographer souls were joyful.
Romance could definitely be felt in the air with the softest touch of the bride adding off-shoulder sleeves, adding another layer to the ethereal feeling from her whimsical dress. Notice a little something different about the men? The groom landed an extra couple of dapper points with his customized dark grey suit, which popped against the lighter grey material of his groomsmen. The formal party set the pace of good times during their portraits and we went swinging right on into one of the most fun receptions of the year! Lake Mary Events Center weddings always gets the good parties.
One piece of advice from the bride and groom to future SO couples:
“Be patient with each other and remember that the small things do not matter as much as you think they do! As long as you are all brought together by love, add some great dance music and you’ll have yourself the best wedding day. “
