Maitland Art Center Wedding in Orlando, Florida | Amanda and Sean

I am fortunate to build a pretty solid relationship with the couples that I work with, and frequently, I find myself with new lifelong friends, as was the case with this beautiful Maitland Art Center wedding couple. Amanda and Sean are so incredibly fun individually, it’s basically a guaranteed belly-laughing kind of hang when they’re together. The first time I took photos of the ring at their engagement session, I stuck it on top of a fried donut and we spent the evening drinking beer, having fun, and overloading on food truck deliciousness. I knew their wedding day was going to be fun, and I was not disappointed. Amanda got ready at one of the little cottages on beautiful Lake Lily in Maitland which had a ton of natural light and beautiful surroundings.

Sean and his guys got ready at the Sheraton Orlando North hotel, which has to be a hidden gem of the Orlando area – because WOW. Check out the awesome lighting in so many different areas.

A flowered archway and harpist greeted guests upon their arrival, and behind the scenes, we set up dad for a special moment with the bride – his first time seeing her. It was emotional and beautiful and we absolutely love incorporating those tender moments in our timeline of the day. Sean walked down the aisle to the GAME OF THRONES theme song – basically nailing it for best entrance song, ever, and Amanda’s face of excitement is absolutely perfect when she sees him at the end of the aisle! The rainy weather held off and we had incredibly diffused lighting from the grey skies above for the ceremony.

Between the multiple venues, we broke up the formal party portraits to be sporadic throughout the day, allowing everyone to enjoy the day as it unfolded, rather than having a strict structure. Amanda and Sean smartly had a Chick-Fil-A tray of nuggets delivered immediately after the ceremony to satisfy hangry stomachs – an idea I believe EVERY couple should consider. The result was epic portraits with an entire variation of looks and a happy formal party who got to enjoy part of cocktail hour.

As I look at the portraits we took of this duo that day, I am so overwhelmed with gratitude at their fun and loving personalities, because everything we captured was pure gold – from the serious to the goofy, these two nailed it every time.

As expected after their Maitland Art Center wedding ceremony, these two kicked off a fun-filled reception back at the Sheraton – complete with glow sticks and epic uplighting. When it came time for the garter removal, we were all doubled over in laughter as the father of the bride rushed over to the dance floor and promptly pulled his daughter’s legs tightly shut. Luckily for Sean, he eventually caved and he was able to rescue that garter, after all! We snuck away at the end of our coverage for a private little sparkler exit which was just perfect.

A HUGE thank you to all the vendors that helped make their day so special:
